Early Learning Coach
Summary:
Our organization, Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP), is searching for a people-oriented Early Learning Coach to provide on-the-job guidance and training to increase the skills and abilities of our ever-important classroom staff. As a coach, you easily connect with people which provides you a strong foundation to motivate them toward great results. Each day provides a wide variety of tasks, and you will need to shift and pivot quickly to meet priorities as necessary. As our Early Learning Coach, you will have the opportunity to see your ideas come into action as you build positive and collaborative relationships with classroom staff and optimize their abilities to promote school readiness. What you’ll need to be our Early Learning Coach:
- A casual, uninhibited extravert with a tendency for informality
- A risk-taking, socially poised and motivating team builder
- An innovative, “outside the box” thinker, who is undaunted by failure
- Baccalaureate, or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education; or a degree in a field established by OWCAP as related with early childhood classes as determined by Head Start Act
- One year’s experience in teaching preschool children

What you’ll do as the Early Learning Coach:
- Assess classroom environment and teaching strategies using various tools. Set goals to improve the quality of services, model appropriate practices and behavior, identify issues and assist through the resolution process, translating theory into practice, and follow-up on goal accomplishment
- Conduct classroom observations including but not limited to the CLASS observation tool
- Assist classroom staff in the learning and development of teaching skills and strategies
- Assist in curriculum implementation, teaching techniques, and effective relationships
- Through mentoring and coaching assist classroom staff in identifying and resolving issues and determining alternative solutions
- Maintain required documentation, i.e. observations, goal setting forms, etc.
- Develop and conduct assigned trainings
